Halloween

.

This year for Halloween we had two Cow Kids and Mason "Lyon". Jake and Hallie especially loved their costumes and wore them every day for a month before and after the big day.

Busted!

I have a problem! And I know that admitting that is the first step. So here goes, my name is Jamie and I love to read.

Hee Haw Farms

Back in October we went up to Hee Haw Farms with Tyson, Diana, Alexis, Logan and Grandpa Woody. Above is a picture of some of the "livestock". Hallie and Jake decided it would be fun to look the part and so came dressed in all their western gear.

All of the kids enjoyed the corn box. I think Mason may have enjoyed it a little too much, if you look closely you'll see his mouth is very full. Every time I emptied it out he popped in another handful. I guess corn is edible...
And this is the whole group on the hay ride. All in all we had a really fun time and we'll definitely be going again next year. After over three hours there we had to drag the kids away kicking and screaming.

My kids have loved seeing their cousins Alexis and Logan more these past few months. Here are Hallie & Alexis, aka The Little Mermaids.

We got our grass in!

After a very long summer of raking, raking, and more raking we finally had our sod delivered on the last Saturday in September. Just as the delivery guy got his equipment down to unload the sod the heavens opened and it started to pour rain! We sat and waited for a bit hoping the rain would die down but when it abruptly turned to snow we went inside, closed all the blinds and made hot chocolate. It was obviously not meant to be. We did get around to laying it later that week though and we are still so grateful for everyone that came out and helped! We found it really funny that even after giving him a full yard of grass to play on, Mason still prefers the mud.

Update

Since this blog has basically become my life in pictures, I'm trying to get up-to-date on my pictures so that I can start giving small updates rather than epics. I tried to just give a whirlwind tour of the past couple of months but it quickly became a hurricane. I want to have this made into a photo album one day which makes it really hard leaving anything important out. And isn't it all important?!? It is now 1:30 am and I need to call it a night. Just consider yourself warned that there is a lot more to follow...

The Childrens Museum

The kids were thrilled when Grandma Woody took them up to the Childrens Museum last time she was here. Here are a few of the highlights:

Jake's taking after his Daddy and already developing quite a strong work ethic. Playing at the museum was serious business.

Jake & Hallie call Mason "The Captain", you can probably see why. And here's a couple pics of our sweet lil' Hallie.

Crazy Hair Day!

1 Year Older & Wiser Too!

The kids enjoyed taking their Daddy breakfast in bed on his birthday. And since it was his birthday they even let him take a few bites!
That night we had a get-together with my parents, Jeff & Alisha's fam, Diana & kids, and we even got Mom & Dad Woody there from Texas!

OktoberFest!!

One of our favorite Young Family traditions is going up to Snowbird for a weekend every fall to enjoy the colors, eat brauts and German chocolate cake, and Polka! Thank you Nana and Papa for another memorable year.

"I'm sorry, did you say something?"

A multi-generational cuddle. Those are 3 beautiful ladies.

I think the only way to describe these 2 pics is a little too much free time in the hotel room...

We were thrilled this year that Grandpa & Grandma Bitter & Young were able to come

Hallie and Jake got to have their faces painted. Hallie wanted to be a fairy princess and Jake wanted to be Spiderman. When she finished painting Jake's face she handed him a mirror and asked if he liked it. He stared at himself very thoughtfully for a long time before looking up at her with those serious brown eyes and telling her very quietly, "I need a baby spider on my nose." We all got a good laugh and she quickly complied.

Labor Day

Labor Day found us up in the High Uintahs with my family to do some 4-wheeling and enjoy the great outdoors. It was a relaxing and peaceful day (with the exception of a marshmallow-shooter war) and we're all determined to stay longer next time we head up that way. A picture Janice can be proud of :) This man really knows how to attack a sandwich.

We're following the leader...tee dum, tee dee
Here's Mason giving Trisha tips on how to use the Marshmallow Gun. He's a natural.

The Big Party

We had Mason's party the day after his birthday. We met up at Spanish Fork Reservoir for some swimming and then came back to our place for lunch, cake, and presents. He had lots of help from his brother, sister, and cousins opening his presents and blowing out his candles. He was his usual sunny little self and made the most of his slice of birthday cake. Mason is constantly smiling and laughing and is a joy to have as part of our family. We are truly blessed.
